A Brief Chronicle of the Cycle 

While we love our motorcycles here in the US, the French pioneered the invention of the motorcycle in 1860, which would be followed 25 years later by the first bike powered by an internal combustion engine. The cycle's popularity increased exponentially, and units were beginning to sell in mass quantities by 1894. In the US, motorcycles skyrocketed in popularity following World War Two. Due to their widespread use in the conflict overseas and the post-economic boom period, many forever service members fell in love with the cycle.

You can make this day special in several ways, notably by revving the engine and riding with your friends. If you don’t ride, you can still enjoy some aspects of pop culture, like the motorcycle. Watch movies like The Wild One, Easy Rider, or Werewolves on Wheels. You can even binge a few seasons of Sons of Anarchy. 

If you don’t ride but still want to show your appreciation for those who do, you can help out a great deal by increasing awareness regarding highway safety. Motorcycle riders aren’t always easily nervous by drivers in other vehicles, and being more aware of this is a great way to show empathy and understanding.
