Your tires are one of the most important parts of your vehicle. Caring for your tires is incredibly important. Without your tires, you can't get from here to there. In order to care for your tires properly, you need to know all about tire pressure.

Tire pressure is a way of measuring the amount of air in your tires. If tire pressure is too high or too low, your tires can go flat. Additionally, poor tire pressure can negatively affect your braking time, steering, handling, and fuel efficiency. Under-inflated tires can even increase your chance of an accident by 300 percent, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In order to operate your motorcycle as safely as possible, it’s critical you make sure your tires are properly inflated.

To avoid dangerous driving conditions, measure your tire pressure frequently. You should measure your tire pressure if you notice your tires looking over or under-inflated. You should also measure your tire pressure when the seasons change. The change in temperature can actually change your tire pressure.

If you are unsure of the proper tire pressure for your motorcycle, check the manufacturers recommended PSI. This can be found on the sidewall of your bike, the owner's manual, or online. Typically a side by side's suggested pressure is 12 to 18 PSI and an ATV's suggested range is 4 to 8 PSI.

Now that you have a stronger understanding of tire pressure, you're ready to shop for a bike at Hap's Cycle Sales. We are located at 2530 17th Street in Sarasota. You can also contact our team when you call 800-303-4277. We hope to work with you soon!
