Meet Our Founders and Current Staff

The photo on the right:

"Hap" AC Poneleit on the last motorcycle he would ever ride and own. A 1996 Honda GL1500 Goldwing with Motortrike conversion (conversion is done here at Hap's) with many extras including the custom Blue Metal Flake Paint with Flames. He was brother, father, and grandfather to more people than just his family and is the man who lives in us all here at Hap's Cycle Sales.

On the left "Hap" AC Poneleit and on the right Hap's first employee and longtime friend Kenny Clark or Uncle Kenny to the rest of us. The rest of the family and co-workers would know him as Uncle Kenny. Uncle Kenny retired from Hap's and then came back to work for us to assemble, set up, and PDI on our new vehicles. Uncle Ken Clark retired for the second time from Hap's at 90 years old in 2013. His son Kenny Lee Clark is one of our talented technicians in our service department.

David married Hap's only daughter in 6-9-1968 and was accepted at the University of Florida.  Before he could save the money to enroll at UF his draft number was up.  He was drafted in the US Army and served in Vietnam from September 1969 to November 1970.  Before leaving to Vietnam David got to see his son, David Lee Bixler, born on 8-11-1969.  After returning home he went to work for Hap's Cycle Sales in 1971 and became the best salesman at Hap's for decades.  David won several awards for selling from Honda and BMW.  Including a trip to Japan and Hawaii.  In Hawaii David got to dine with Mr Honda.  David would go one to have a second son, Stephen W Bixler born on 3-26-1974.  Both of David's sons worked at Hap's during high school.  David had a big part in starting FTR - Florida Trail Riders and SADRA - Sarasota Area Dirt Riders Association.  David lost his battle with cancer on 10-4-2020.  We love and miss you "Bix".
